The Directorate of Media & Public Relations (DOPR)
The Directorate of Media and Public Relations (DOPR) is the central communication and public engagement body of the University of Duhok (UOD). As the steward of UOD’s brand, media presence, and stakeholder engagement, DOPR plays a foundational role in shaping the University's digital footprint, enhancing its visibility, and building public trust.
In an era of digital transformation, DOPR aligns its work with UOD’s Strategic Plan 2023–2038, supporting goals related to internationalisation, transparency, data governance, and community impact. The Directorate ensures the university’s information assets are communicated with clarity, accuracy, and purpose, reinforcing UOD’s standing as a leading academic institution in the region.

The Directorate is composed of seven integrated offices, each with a distinct role in promoting and protecting UOD’s institutional reputation:
Strategic storytelling, media relations, and internal communications to shape UOD’s message and ensure consistency.
Official news production, announcements, media liaison, and press releases showcasing academic excellence and thought leadership.
Planning and executing high-impact academic and ceremonial events that reflect the prestige and vision of the University.
Digital storytelling, social media culture, media archiving, and the preservation of UOD’s multimedia legacy.
Content auditing, language review, SEO optimization, and web governance to ensure accurate and policy-aligned digital communication.
Brand management, marketing strategy, graphic standards enforcement, and institutional visibility campaigns.
Facilitating strategic partnerships and policy engagement through collaboration with government entities and civil society.
